C Em F G C F G

Our captain fell in love with a lady like a dove

And they called her name pretty Peggy-O

Come a runnin' down the stairs, pretty Peggy-O

Come a runnin' down the stairs, pretty Peggy-O

Come a runnin' down the stairs, combin' back your yellow hair

You're the prettiest little girl I've ever seen-o

[Riff]

In a carriage you will ride, pretty Peggy-O

In a carriage you will ride, pretty Peggy-O

In a carriage you will ride, with your true love by your side

As far as any maiden in the areo

[Riff]

What will your mother say, pretry Peggy-O?

What will your mother say, pretty Peggy-O?

What will your mother say, when she finds you've gone away

To places far and strange to Fanerio?

[Riff]

If ever I return, pretty Peggy-O

If ever I return, all your cities I will burn

Notes:

The end riff is exactly the same as the rest except it ends on C sooner, the parenthesis just indicate that that part is the same.

I'd suggest using the full bar for the F chord to create a nice baseline.

If you find the riff to difficult you cn leave out some of the bottom notes, I just think it sounds better this way.

I'm not going to write out all of the picking paterns, choose your own, I use mostly a pmia pattern (p = thumb, m = middle, i = index, a = ring)

If you're wondering what is going on when the Am chord is played (on dove ect.) the Am chord is played with a C on top and then an open B is played hammering on to C again.
