Radiohead, XL Complete Deal For ‘In Rainbows’

Radiohead has ended weeks of speculation by confirming it has struck a deal with British indie label XL Recordings for the physical release of its new album, “In Rainbows.” The deal is expected to cover territories outside North America, leaving the band free to sign a separate deal there.

Radiohead complete album

Radiohead's seventh album is done and ready to be released, says guitarist Jonny Greenwood.We just had a meeting about that today," Greenwood told Paste.com "We're very relieved to have finished recording, now we have to decide what we should do with it."The band completed their six-album deal with EMI in 2003 when they released 'Hail To The Thief' and are currently unsigned, with no suggestion of who will release the new record.Meanwhile Greenwood is preparing for his orchestral performance in New York City early next year when he brings the BBC commissioned 'Popcorn Superhet Receiver' to the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in Manhattan.

Radiohead putting the last touches on the album

British group Radiohead are currently in the city of New York mastering their seventh studio release. According to a posting on fan website Ateaseweb by member the king left, some of the band were at a Spoon listening party.Radiohead members Colin Greenwood, Ed O'Brien and producer Nigel Godrich turned up to the playback taking place in New York.The poster wrote: "They're in the city mastering the album. Then they're going to listen to it, see what they think. So, we're almost there, maybe."The poster's friend Marty also asked Greenwood if one of the much mooted tracks would make it onto the release.He wrote: "Oh yeah when Marty asked Colin (Greenwood) if 'Nude' was going to be on LP7Colin looked uncomfortable, said "hehe hehe, maybe, if we can do it right..." and slinked back inside. This was after Marty gave him a Camel Ultra Light too. Some people, I tell you. Favours for favour(s) my ass."A release date for the album has yet to be announced, but it is believed the album, the follow-up to 2003's 'Hail To The Thief', will be out before the end of the year.
