After performing 80 shows in 12 European countries for a staggering 1.3 million fans over the past year alone, legendary superstar George Michael will be bringing his smash 25 LIVE tour to North American Arenas in the summer of 2008 in support of his new retrospective record. This will be Michael's first North American tour in 17 years. The new record, titled Twenty-Five, will be released April 1st and is a 29-song, 2-CD set featuring several new songs (including duets with superstars Paul McCartney and Mary J. Blige) in addition to many of Michael's iconic songs from both his solo and WHAM! career. In addition, a companion 2-disc DVD of 40 videos will also be made available.The 25 LIVE tour broke several ticket sales records, most notably in Copenhagen. Michael's concert at The Parken Stadium sold over 50,000 tickets in the matter of minutes, shattering the previous ticket sales record at the venue, formerly held by U2. The tour will incorporate 22 shows over the course of seven weeks and Michael will perform material taken from the entire span of his career, including some classic Wham! tracks. Michael has recently teamed up with iTunes and Ticketmaster to produce an innovative media package which allows fans rare access to Michael's videos, songs, and tickets to one of his North American 25 LIVE concerts. The package goes on sale on iTunes on March 25th. As previously reported on Singersroom, R&B singer Bobby Valentino has parted ways with DTP/Def Jam with plans to release two independent projects this year. The R&B crooner recently released the first project entitled "Come With Me," a digital album exclusively available through iTunes. The six song EP produced by Valentino and Bill Jabr features the new single "Another Life," which is being well received through online outlets and a remake of the Marvin Gaye classic "What's Going On." Badboy rapper Yung Joc, who already has two automobile-related companies, as well as a sunglasses line which will be debuting soon called Claudio St. James, has inked a one-off deal through Jive Records, for his new imprint Swagg Team Entertainment Joc recently put his money where his mouth is by with signing upcoming R&B singer Traeyon, whose as-yet-untitled debut CD is scheduled to be released early 2009. Rappers come a dime a dozen," Joc explains signing Traeyon. "I wasn't planning on signing an R&B artist, but it dawned on me that a good vocalist is what the game is missing…Knowing that I am a hard worker, I saw those talents in him when I saw him." Traeyon has been setting Atlanta on fire with his debut solo single "V.I.P." featuring Yung Joc, where Trae croons with heartfelt conviction atop a snap-infused dance track. The Atlanta rapper's sophomore album, 2007's "Hustlenomics," has sold 197,000 copies in the United States to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
