Sid Vicious was innocent

Posten on: 2007-05-30 14:17:02

A former friend of late Sid Vicious says the iconic bassist did not kill his girlfriend Nancy Spungen in 1978. "Sid didn't kill Nancy, I know that for a fact. I know who did it. He was a drug dealer from New Jersey who robbed the flat where Nancy was stabbed. Why would Sid rob himself?Steve Dior - who played with Sid Vicious in a band called the Idols - says his former bandmate was the victim of a police "set up". The revelation comes from Steve Dior on postchronicle.com."This guy's fingerprints were on the knife, but New York Police didn't want to get into it. It was a case closed if they pinned it on Sid, they didn't care if Sid Vicious went to prison. I'm trying to tell more people about it."

Jack Bruce hints at summer reunion

Posten on: 2007-05-28 06:41:08

Cream bassist Jack Bruce says that the 60s supergroup may reunite. He even hints at the possibility of playing some shows later this summer.Bruce made the announcement at the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp in Abbey Road, where he performed alongside a string of fellow music legends including The Rolling Stones' Bill Wyman and Jon Lord of Deep Purple. He told the Associated Press: "It came up we're doing something if I wanted to. Obviously, I'm not going to be the one to say no."So far, representatives for Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker have yet to confirm the reunion. Cream reunited after 37 years in 2005, but their shows still caused rifts in the band with Bruce suggesting that drummer Ginger Baker was turning his bass sounds levels up to a deafening level. The band originally split in 1968 after arguments, sometimes onstage, between Bruce and Baker became obvious and frontman Eric Clapton signalled an intent to release solo material.Their albums Fresh Cream, Disraeli Gears, Wheels of Fire and Goodbye were notable for long guitar solos and the continuation of the blues rock movement.
