Legendary group Pink Floyd plan release a special 40th anniversary edition of their first album 'The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn'.The reissue, which will be out on September 3, features mono and stereo versions of the LP, as well as a disc of bonus tracks: 1967 singles are 'Arnold Layne', 'See Emily Play', 'Apples And Oranges' plus the B-sides 'Candy And A Currant Bun' and 'Paintbox'.Other songs are an exclusive edit of 'Interstellar Overdrive', previously only available on an EP in France, and the 1967 stereo version of 'Apples And Oranges', which has never before been officially released.The packaging, designed by longtime Floyd collaborator Storm Thorgerson, will be in a in a cloth-bound book format along with an expanded 12 page redesigned booklet, plus a reproduction of a previously unseen Syd Barrett notebook from 1967 that contains personal artwork and lyric ideas.

Bands such as Klaxons, Bloc Party, Magic Numbers and Maximo Park have all namechecked Björk as a Glastonbury highlight. She embarks on a European tour with dates including Werchter and Roskilde festivals and her own headline shows in France and Spain. Björk returns to the UK to headline the Connect Festival on September 2nd.
British group Radiohead are currently in the city of New York mastering their seventh studio release. According to a posting on fan website Ateaseweb by member the king left, some of the band were at a Spoon listening party.Radiohead members Colin Greenwood, Ed O'Brien and producer Nigel Godrich turned up to the playback taking place in New York.The poster wrote: "They're in the city mastering the album. Then they're going to listen to it, see what they think. So, we're almost there, maybe."The poster's friend Marty also asked Greenwood if one of the much mooted tracks would make it onto the release.He wrote: "Oh yeah when Marty asked Colin (Greenwood) if 'Nude' was going to be on LP7Colin looked uncomfortable, said "hehe hehe, maybe, if we can do it right..." and slinked back inside. This was after Marty gave him a Camel Ultra Light too. Some people, I tell you. Favours for favour(s) my ass."A release date for the album has yet to be announced, but it is believed the album, the follow-up to 2003's 'Hail To The Thief', will be out before the end of the year.
David Gilmour promised fans on his 2006 world tour with a band that featured Pink Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright and a set list tilted toward the hardcore Floyd fan. Now the trek, specifically a gig at London's Royal Albert Hall, will be chronicled on the live DVD "Remember That Night," that will be out on Sept. 18 via Columbia.The project includes evergreens like "Wish You Were Here," "Echoes" and "Breathe," plus a complete performance of Gilmour's 2006 solo album, "On an Island." In a recent interview, Lars Ulrich, Metallica's drummer said that the heavy metal group plan to release a new album in the year to come. The group already recorded the backing tracks for what is goind to be their ninth studio album. While at Belgium's Rock Werchter Festival, the drummer confirmed that Metallica are aiming to release the follow-up to 2003's 'St Anger' in February 2008."It doesn't sound like 'St. Anger' to me," he told Studio Brussel. "It's a little early to kind of put in a soundbite exactly. But it doesn't sound anything like 'St. Anger'."It's probably a little more dynamic, and a little more varied, and it has lots of different nutty Metallica stuff on it."The band are currently in the midst of touring the European festival circuit. They're set to play Live Earth at London's Wembley Stadium on July 7.
