Natalie ‘The Floacist' Stewart, one half of the duo Floetry is spreading her wings with a new project entitled "Freedom..xx," due early 2009. "Freedom xx" becomes Stewart's first official album release under her independent label, Spirit Mother Music and second release since the much-talked-about disbanding of the group Floetry. Stewart's effort will be preceded by a poetic and conceptual album entitled "The Offering..xx" which will be a preview of sorts for the "Freedom.xx" release. Both albums according to Rap Up, are to be packed with mind-opening soul, R&B and new age music flavored by the singer's personal background. "I had to find a new language, to be able to articulate the experiences that I was having—a language that recognizes the reality of change without seeking an avenue of victimization. And I used that new language to create this album," says Stewart. Floetry's final album "Flo'Ology" was released in 2005.
Natalie Stewart, one half of group Floetry, signed with Geffen Records to release her solo album “Freedom.” Early this year, Natalie was replaced in the group by personality/radio hostess Amanda Diva for the ‘The Floetry Remixed Tour.’ Since the tour, original group members Marsha Ambrosius and Natalie Stewart have reconciled and have planned an upcoming release of a new Floetry album. For now, Natalie is looking forward to the release of the first single “Come Over” on her solo album, which is expected to be released in 2008.
R&B singer Natalie Stewart of Floetry makes her acting debut in ‘Reason Excuse’, playing the lead role as an over-confident, sassy PR executive. Her husband (Nolan Weekes) also appears in the film as a love interest, along with Shola Ama, Sabrina (Mis-Teeq), Tony Street and Kwaku Ankomah. The film was written and directed by Samona Naomi. It will distributed by Echelon Studios in association with CRYbaby.Natalie is currently touring the U.S. and promoting her new album ‘Superheroine.’
