R&B singer Mariah Carey is on the verge of tying legendary British band the Beatles, for having the most chart-topping hits. The superstar’s newest single "Touch My Body" is poised to give her 18 No. 1 singles, which would tie her with the Fab Four. The song is the lead track on her latest album "E=MC2," due to hit stores later this month. The 37-year-old songstress is currently tied with Elvis Presley for second place for top singles. Carey, the best-selling female singer of all time, showed off her new hit and slimmed-down body on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, sporting stilettos and a micro-miniskirt.
Wenn reports that fans who attended R&B singer MARIAH CAREY's show in Uncasville, Connecticut on Friday night (Aug.26) were furious after paying top dollar to see her perform a short show. The star's show lasted about 75 minutes and she was off stage for 15 of those minutes for multiple costume changes. Fans had paid up to $160 to see the concert, at the Mohegan Sun Arena, with the lowest price seats going for $90. After performing WE BELONG TOGETHER, Carey said her goodbyes to the crowd and left the stage to get ready for what fans thought would be an encore, but she never re-appeared. According to one concertgoer, "Mariah barely played for an hour. We are demanding a refund! Everyone in the audience was so mad. She cut songs out of the show and was just not into it at all." Another miffed fan added, "I don't even think she was on for more than 45 minutes. I've never seen anyone suck as bad in concert and just not care." An apparently cranky Carey even snapped at one of the crew members during her set saying, "Get that light off me you dummy" before realising her microphone was on. She quickly tried to cover by adding, "Oops, just kidding!"
R&B singer Mariah Carey will skit herself and her life in the upcoming short film, Lovers & Haters. The Spike Lee directed flick, to be produced by 40 Acres & A Mule Filmworks, is a skit of the life of Mariah, with the 'lovers and haters' that she encounters along the way, and how she overcomes those obstacles to still be one of the most talented and loved musical sensations in history. Lee also directed similar vignettes that became video features during Carey's 2006 tour The Adventures of Mimi. Carey worked alongside Benny Medina as executive producer on the 15 minute, $5 million short film. Lovers & Haters is slated for release in September.

Mariah Carey is launching a summer tour in the U.S, her first major tour since 2003. The project is called The Adventures of Mimi and will include shows in more than 30 cities. "I've always associated going to a show with summer, and the sense of freedom that evokes," Carey says. "Summertime is the best time for tours, I think. Not that I'm the queen of touring." Pop diva Carey, who has re-established herself at the top of the pop charts with her six-times-platinum "The Emancipation of Mimi", added that her journey around the U.S will be recorded and during the trip she'll use even a bus. "I had a small one in Europe, but I didn't sleep on it or anything. Someone, I won't say who, told me, 'The bathroom may be a little small for you.' " "I know that my fans already understand who I am. Sometimes I think they get me more than I get myself. But I want everyone who sees these shows to get a better understanding of me, my personal side, by the time they leave," Carey says. Her shows will also feature Rappers Jermaine Dupri, Busta Rhymes and Snoop Dog.
