Eminem Being Sued for Punching Man in Bathroom 2 Years Ago

Posten on: 2008-07-22 21:52:44

Eminem (A.K.A. Marshall Mathers) is being sued for more than $25,000 by a man that claim the rapper sucker-punched him at a bathroom urinal two years ago at a Detroit strip club.  Come on give me a break.  It's been 2 years!  Miad Jarbou filed a lawsuit Thursday in Oakland Circuit Court accusing Emine of assault and battery on July 13, 2006. Jarbou claims he was in the restroom when the rap star walked in with a large man he took to be a bodyguard.     Jarbou claims a friend said, "Hey Eminem, what's up man?" and the bodyguard standing near the door told him to "Shut the f up, man! Don't say another word."  Jarbou then claimed he responded, "Hey, man, my friend ain't starting trouble. It's just cool to see Eminem."   According to Jarbou, Eminem then stepped back from a urinal and "without warning or provocation ... drove his fist in a violent punching manner" into Jarbou's face, knocking him to the ground. Eminem and his bodyguard then left the men's room.       Jarbou claims he's "undergone physical pain and suffering, emotional distress, ongoing serious injuries requiring medical treatment" and "embarrassment, humiliation, medical expenses, wage loss and other economic and non-economic" damages. Hip Hop News: Eminem Working on New Disc, 50 Cent and Lil Kim Sued, T.I. Tops BET Noms

Posten on: 2008-05-18 22:09:06

Eminem is hard at work on his first studio album in three years. The rapper called into New York radio station Hot 97 on Thursday, as his protégé 50 Cent was doing an interview to promote his new album, and spoke about his own endeavors. "I'm always working -- I'm always in the studio," Eminem said. "It feels good right now ... For a while, I didn't want to go back to the studio ... I went through some personal things. I'm coming out of those personal things (and) it feels good." Also said jokingly said he'd release his new CD "tomorrow," though there is no official release date, according to Interscope, which distributes his releases. A record producer has sued rappers 50 Cent and Lil' Kim and two record companies for $2 million, claiming they failed to pay him royalties on a song that sold 2 million copies. Carlos Evans says in papers filed in Manhattan's state Supreme Court he contracted with Rotten Apple Records in January 2003 to produce, engineer and mix the hit hip hop track "Magic Stick," which was performed by 50 Cent and Lil' Kim. Evans, of Staten Island, says he was to get a $7,500 advance and royalties for working on the song. His court papers say that he was paid the advance and nothing else and that his requests for a royalties audit have been ignored. Evans' lawsuit, filed Wednesday, seeks $1 million in compensatory damages and $1 million in punitive damages. Rapper T.I. received nine nominations for the second annual BET Hip Hop awards show, which will air on Oct. 17. Last year, the self-proclaimed "King of the South" garnered eight nominations, and won three awards. Lil' Wayne is second in total nominations this year, with seven. Kanye West drew six, Common earned five, Jay-Z grabbed four, and Ludacris and 50 Cent got three each.

Eminem is a Manic Depressive Per His Mother's Book

Posten on: 2008-05-17 00:47:07

It seems Rapper Eminem is a manic depressive.  This is per his mother's (Debbie Nelson) tell all book, "My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem", that is expected to hit the U.S. next year.  The book is currently available in the UK.  Eminem and his mother do not have a good relationship as evident in some of his songs where he raps about his hatred of his mother. As a result, his mother in 2002 filed a $7 million lawsuit against Eminem.  Eminem however have helped his mother when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and helped pay the more than $200,000 in medical bills. According to Nelson, Eminem has always suffered from depression, however, when his ex-wife gave birth to his daughter Halle, his depression worsened.  Additionally, Nelson claims that Eminem has lost control of his life due to him being manic depressive. When the couple divorced in 2006, he worsened further. A family friend tells Life & Style magazine, "She just hopes he'll read it and realize how loved he is. She fears she'll end up burying him unless he gets help... We all see him teetering on the edge of self-destruction."Eminem - Cleaning Out My Closet
